The X-16S™ adds eight analog inputs to an X-400™ or X-600M™ controller, delivering high-resolution measurement with a 24-bit A/D converter. Inputs can be configured for single-ended or differential readings, providing flexibility for a wide range of sensor types. A built-in 5.0V reference output allows direct connection of potentiometers and other resistance-based sensors.
Connected via ribbon cable for both power and communication, one or more X-16S™ modules can be added to scale analog input capacity. Common applications include process monitoring, flow and pressure sensing, tank or bin level measurement, and precision instrumentation.
An X-400 or X-600M connected with an expansion module like the X-16S provides an easy, flexible, and reliable way to monitor and control systems and devices over a network. The X-16S works on 0-5V* ranges, making it ideal for measuring precision analog voltages. This includes level monitoring, tanks, and analog transducers ranging from pressure, soil moisture, voltage, or current.
*External resistors can be used to scale inputs with a voltage range outside of 0-5V to a value compatible with the X-16S. See the users manual for details.

For your convenience we have set up a live X-600M unit for testing and evaluation. By clicking the links below you have full access to this live unit. You can make changes to the configuration and settings through the setup pages and you can control X-600M through its control page. The control page allows you to change the state of the relay and view the current state of the input.
The diagrams illustrate how this demonstration is wired. The relays on all expansion modules are not connected to a load; however, you can still access and control the relays by turning them on or off through the X-600M dashboard. The X-600M is also wired to a temperature sensor, and the X-13s is connected to a thermocouple. Both sensors can be monitored on the X-600M’s dashboard. The digital input states on the X-15s only changes when a voltage is applied to the inputs. For this demonstration, we have connected one of our X-332 controllers to Input 1 on the X-15s. You can apply a voltage to this input by accessing the control page for the X-332 (Digital Input Control Page).
