A cellular data plan that works with our cellular enabled devices such as the X-410CW, X-400C, X-404C, and FridgeAlert. Contracts are annual and data limits are monthly. The 5MB/month plan is ideal for very occasional data transmission. The 10MB/month plan is great for most remote monitoring applications with regular data transmission. The 30MB/month plan is built for heavier use with shorter monitoring intervals and more data transmission. Finally, the 50MB/month plan is best for peer-to-peer communication between CBW devices or very frequent monitoring.

Benefits of Cellular-Enabled I/O
Combined network coverage map for ControlByWeb cellular devices. Updated July 2023.
Capturing and using edge data offers huge opportunities—and wireless solutions like cellular can simplify and speed up the integration process. Some data may be impossible to collect through Ethernet due to existing infrastructure. Cellular connectivity allows for I/O where it otherwise couldn’t exist, or acts as a backup when other solutions go down.
Here are some of the benefits of using a ControlByWeb cellular controller:
A simplified setup. No third-party hardware or software is required set up and use cellular connectivity. All you need is the included SIM card and you’ll be able to access the configurable status page through the built-in interface. From here, you can review signal strength, set ping interval, and more.
Robust network coverage. ControlByWeb cellular controllers including eUICC (eSIM) technology, allowing them to operate across multiple carriers.
One plan covers your I/O. Expansion modules bridge the I/O among ControlByWeb devices. One cellular-enabled controller allows all connected input and output devices to operate wirelessly.
Note that more I/O means increased data usage. Consult our team to determine the best data plan for your needs.
Cellular-as-backup. Our cellular devices include the option to use Ethernet as the primary connection and cellular as a failover, adding redundancy to your application. Using cellular this way also means less data being used, allowing integrators to opt for the most cost-effective data plan.
Cellular controllers and our Cloud service are a perfect match—and an Advanced Cloud device seat is included with new cellular service. Through the Cloud, users can log, store, and export data; monitor and control devices online; aggregate device information into reports or graphs*; and more.
* Aggregated reports and dashboards are only available on Advanced Cloud seats, included with an active cellular data plan.
The ControlByWeb® Difference
Capturing data at the edge can be challenging due to environmental conditions, distance, network inconsistencies, power restrictions, and other factors. If you need a certain feature or capability, odds are that we offer the right relay for the job. In addition to cellular connectivity, many ControlByWeb IoT controllers support P2P networking and WiFi for those applications where hardwiring isn’t possible.
