Cell Device Setup Guide

When you first receive your cell device, DO NOT power it on. You will need to connect it to the ControlByWeb Cloud and activate the internal SIM card first. If the device has been previously powered on, additional help can be found here.

Setting up a cell device is a simple process; however, the steps must be followed in a very specific order to avoid any potential issues.

1. Purchase your device and desired data plan.Your cellular device needs an active data plan, which can be purchased alongside the device. Data plan options are 5 MB, 10 MB, and 30 MB. A cellular device will use about 28 KB a day to maintain a connection to the Cloud server.

2. Create a ControlByWeb Cloud account (or sign into an existing cloud account).Visit controlbyweb.cloud and click “Create Account.” A ControlByWeb Cloud account is required for cellular devices.

3. Add your device to the Cloud and activate the internal SIM card.Visit controlbyweb.cloud and add your new device. You will need to enter the serial number and cell ID of the device. Once added, the internal SIM card can be activated.

4. Power up the device for the first time.If you have followed these steps in the correct order, your device can be powered on. If you have powered on the cell device before adding it to the cloud and activating the SIM card, follow the link below.
