The X-13S™ thermocouple expansion module is used with an X-400™ or X-600M™ controller. It is a 2-channel signal conditioner for Type-K thermocouples. One or more X-13S expansion modules can be connected with a ribbon cable that provides both power and communication.
Thermocouples come in many shapes and sizes and apply to countless applications, including extreme temperature measurement. When connected to an X-400 or X-600M, the X-13S provides a flexible and reliable way to monitor temperature over a network. It’s suitable for use with freezers, ovens, fermenters, generators—anywhere precise, rugged temperature sensors are required.
The X-400™ is a web-enabled controller that allows for up to 32 added expansion modules and/or remote I/O devices. Expansion modules are connected directly to the X-400 via ribbon cable, or remotely with other CBW devices via P2P—allowing for monitoring and control of up to 64 I/O.
The X-600M™ is one of the most capable and flexible ControlByWeb PLCs. Add up to 64 expansion modules and remotely monitor and control up to 1,024 I/O. Create custom logic through the X-600M interface and run your application through a built-in web server and web browser.
For your convenience we have set up a live X-600M unit connected to its expansion modules (i.e., X-11S, X-12S, X-13S, X-15S ,and X-16S) for testing and evaluation. By clicking the links below you have full access to this live unit. You can make changes to the configuration and settings through the setup pages and you can control the expansion modules’ relays, and view the current status of the inputs, and monitor temperature (X-600M & X-13S) through its dashboard page.
The diagrams illustrate how this demonstration is wired. The relays on all expansion modules are not connected to a load; however, you can still access and control the relays by turning them on or off through the X-600M dashboard. The X-600M is also wired to a temperature sensor, and the X-13s is connected to a thermocouple. Both sensors can be monitored on the X-600M’s dashboard. The digital input states on the X-15s only changes when a voltage is applied to the inputs. For this demonstration, we have connected one of our X-332 controllers to Input 1 on the X-15s. You can apply a voltage to this input by accessing the control page for the X-332 (Digital Input Control Page).
